Dr. Solveig Pflueger, TICA’s chief geneticist, has made several positive remarks about Maine Coons. In her article in the Cat Fanciers Journal, she stated that polydactyly (having extra toes) in Maine Coons does not appear to affect the cat adversely and is not known to be associated with other anomalies. This is good news for those who love polydactyl Maine Coons, as it means the trait doesn’t negatively impact their health.

We purchased our British Shorthair, Dallas, in December 2019 and had the most wonderful experience. We found Jerry through a close family friend who had purchased their British Shorthair, Jackson, a few years prior. Upon deciding we wanted a British Shorthair, we contacted Jerry and went to “meet” our new family member the day after Thanksgiving! We fell in love immediately. I I bought a cat from this breeder in June of 2011. I have nothing to say but wonderfully professional and helpful. I have never bought a cat from a breeder before so I did my research. I talked to many breeders and had settled on 2. I chose this breeder for several reasons. He had a kitten I was looking for, the price was comparable to other breeders and he was also in a location easier for me to get too. The transaction for the kitten was cut and dry and very easy.
